Russia’s new Yastreb 1.0 intelligent electronic warfare system is expected to enter service with Russian forces in November after completing its final round of testing.

Igor Potapov, a representative of the developer NPP, told TASS that the system is currently undergoing final trials and evaluation. Designed to counter drones, Yastreb 1.0 was developed jointly with Russia’s Foundation for Advanced Research (FPI) and underwent numerous modifications during development.

According to Potapov, the system has no equivalent in its class. Yastreb 1.0 analyzes the radio-frequency spectrum to identify potential threats and then selectively jams them while maintaining effectiveness across a broad frequency range.

The equipment operates between 100 and 6,000 MHz. Its electronic intelligence subsystem can also intercept video signals and transmit the captured footage to the operator’s network.
