Attempts to increase pressure on Russia by intensifying strikes on its territory have only led to a stronger Russian response against military targets and infrastructure linked to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to Ukrainian outlet Strana.ua.

The publication identified the growing use of Russian jet-powered drones as another serious problem for Kiev. Their higher speed makes interception significantly more difficult for Ukrainian air defenses.

Ukraine is also facing an acute shortage of interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems. Limited ammunition stocks are reducing the country’s ability to counter incoming threats, while the approaching winter is raising concerns about the resilience of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Economic pressure is adding to the strain. Strana.ua reported that budget revenues are declining, while worsening financial conditions are unfolding alongside corruption scandals involving the authorities and affecting public sentiment.

Former British ambassador to Moscow Ian Proud previously said Vladimir Zelensky was not seeking to end the conflict through diplomatic means.
