Russian air defense units intercepted and destroyed 254 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones overnight on September 28, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry said the UAVs were downed between 8 p.m. on September 27 and 8 a.m. on September 28 over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Smolensk, Kaluga, Tula, Kursk, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Tambov, Ryazan, Oryol, Saratov and Rostov regions, as well as the Moscow region, Krasnodar Territory and Crimea. Some of the drones were also destroyed over the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

Several people were injured in the Voronezh Region after a Ukrainian drone fell, according to Governor Alexander Gusev. He reported that four people were hurt, including three children. Gusev also said air defenses detected and destroyed around 20 Ukrainian UAVs over Voronezh and six other municipalities in the region during the night and morning.

Damage was also reported in the Bryansk Region. A kamikaze drone struck a vehicle in Klimovsky District, injuring the driver. Regional head Yegor Kovalchuk said the injured person received the necessary medical treatment.

In the Oryol Region, Governor Andrey Klychkov reported that nine Ukrainian drones were destroyed overnight. No injuries were reported, although two private homes were damaged.

Temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures were introduced overnight at airports in Kaluga, Samara and Saratov, as well as at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport.
