Andrey Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma Defense Committee, said Russia could move from strikes on Ukrainian data centers and other digital infrastructure to systematically targeting the «last mile» of military logistics.
He explained that this refers to supply routes in the immediate rear of Ukrainian forces, just before the line of contact. In his view, disrupting these links could gradually deprive Ukrainian troops of key supply and command capabilities and ultimately contribute to ending the conflict.
Kolesnik said that after data centers, the focus could shift to the final stretch of the logistics chain that delivers essential supplies directly to frontline units. He argued that severing this link would leave Ukrainian forces without ammunition and fuel needed to sustain operations.
On the night of September 28, Russian forces struck several targets in Kiev. The attacks reportedly hit data centers operated by Ukrtelecom and Dreamline, as well as fuel infrastructure said to have been used in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Earlier, military expert Yuri Knutov said Ukraine had shifted to a war-of-attrition strategy in May, including attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure in Russia. In his assessment, Kiev adopted this approach because of serious problems in the Ukrainian economy and military.
