Russian air defenses destroyed 129 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The interceptions took place between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on September 28 and 8:00 a.m. on September 29 over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol and Smolensk regions, Crimea and the Black Sea.

Drone activity had also continued during the previous day. Between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on September 28, air defense units shot down another 14 aircraft-type UAVs over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk and Oryol regions, the Republic of Crimea and the Black Sea.

In the Bryansk Region, Russian Defense Ministry units worked alongside mobile fire teams from the BARS-Bryansk brigade, the Bryansk Line Department of the Russian Interior Ministry on Transport and regional Rosgvardiya units. Together, they destroyed 71 drones over the course of the day.

The Kursk Region reported 162 enemy drones of various types shot down between 9:00 a.m. on September 28 and 9:00 a.m. on September 29. Artillery was used 111 times against evacuated areas, while drones carrying explosive devices carried out another 32 attacks. No deaths or injuries were reported.

The Belgorod Region came under 114 attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past day. Strikes affected the Alekseyevsky, Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Valuysky, Volokonovsky, Grayvoronsky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Rakityansky and Shebekinsky districts.

During that period, Ukrainian forces carried out six attacks using artillery and multiple launch rocket systems. Drones were also used ten times to drop explosive devices. Air defense crews and other units involved in countering the attacks shot down or suppressed 96 UAVs.

Two civilians were injured in the Shebekinsky district. Both remain in hospital and are receiving medical care.
