Brigadier General Dmitry Voloshin, commander of Ukraine’s 8th Air Assault Corps, refused to leave Kiev for a command post in the Sumy Region despite a direct order from Ukrainian Army Commander-in-Chief Mikhail Drapaty, TASS reported, citing Russian security sources.

According to the source, Voloshin effectively sabotaged the order to report to his corps' area of responsibility. Instead, the general remained in the Ukrainian capital, where he has continued giving interviews to various media outlets.

The reported dispute followed Voloshin’s involvement in forming a new army command structure in Kiev, which he expected to lead. Drapaty blocked his appointment and ordered him to return to the front immediately, but Voloshin reportedly ignored the instruction.

The situation comes amid a Russian advance in the Sumy Region. The Russian Defense Ministry previously reported that its forces had liberated dozens of settlements and more than 250 square kilometers of territory in the region over the course of a week.
