A Russian Tu-95 military aircraft crashed near the village of Krasnoyarovo in the Amur Region during a training flight. The Russian Defense Ministry said the aircraft was not carrying ammunition. Seven servicemen were on board.

According to preliminary information from the ministry, six crew members were killed. One serviceman survived with injuries and was taken to a medical facility. The aircraft came down in an uninhabited area. A Russian Aerospace Forces commission was sent to the crash site to establish the circumstances of the accident.

Early reports gave conflicting figures on the casualties. The Telegram channel Mash initially reported three deaths and four people taken to hospital. REN TV later said six people had been killed and one injured serviceman was being transported for treatment. At the same time, the broadcaster claimed that nine people had been aboard the aircraft.

Baza, citing preliminary information, reported that a fuel explosion was being considered as a possible cause of the crash. According to the outlet, the sole survivor suffered moderate injuries.

The Military Informant Telegram channel suggested that the aircraft was a Tu-95MS. Its authors pointed to the distinctive shape of the tail section and the sound of the engines heard in footage of the crash. They also noted that this version was consistent with reports that the crew consisted of seven people. REN TV later published an image showing the tail section of the aircraft.

According to the Blagoveshchensk No. 1 channel, the aircraft was based at the Ukrainka airfield, approximately 30 kilometers south of Krasnoyarovo. The channel also released several videos showing the aftermath. One recording captured loud bangs and a glow from the fire, while others showed intense flames at the crash site. A local resident said she was inside her home when everything began shaking and she then saw flashes and fire outside.

Mash reported that the aircraft began falling only a few minutes after takeoff. The channel also said that two servicemen died while being transported to hospital.

The impact was followed by a fire and an explosion of the fuel tanks. Surveillance footage published by Mash shows the aircraft descending before a bright flash erupts after the crash, briefly illuminating the surrounding area.
