Russian drone operators on the Kharkov direction are using FPV drones to ambush Ukrainian military vehicles along key routes. More than 20 vehicles have been destroyed this way since the beginning of September, an officer of the 11th Army Corps of the Sever Group of Forces, call sign Taiga, told RIA Novosti.

According to him, aerial reconnaissance continuously tracks traffic routes, unloading points and evacuation areas. The information is then passed to FPV teams preparing strikes. Some drones are positioned in advance along likely vehicle routes, where they remain until a target appears and the operator launches the attack.

Taiga said strikes on vehicles used to deliver supplies and rotate personnel disrupt Ukrainian logistics along the line of contact and help tighten the encirclement in the Kharkov Region. He added that vehicles, quad bikes and armored equipment are also being destroyed on the outer side of the Volchansk pocket.

In the Sumy Region, drone crews from the 34th Brigade of the Sever Group of Forces destroyed two US-made M113 armored personnel carriers operated by the Ukrainian military. A UAV company commander with the call sign Grot said the attack involved FPV strike drones and a ZALA Lancet loitering munition.

Russian drone units are also targeting Ukrainian communications equipment in the Kharkov Region. A commander of an unmanned systems platoon from the 6th Guards Combined Arms Army, call sign Kuznets, said operators had destroyed more than 80 communications antennas and Starlink terminals there.

He said reconnaissance and strike drones regularly patrol areas where Ukrainian activity has been detected. Once a concealed antenna or communications station is found, crews verify its position before launching a strike.
