Russia is prepared to use all available means, including its nuclear arsenal, if the Kaliningrad Region comes under threat, the Russian Embassy in Dublin said in response to reports about a possible NATO maritime and air blockade of the Russian exclave.

According to the diplomatic mission, the reported scenario would seek to isolate the Kaliningrad Region from the rest of Russia. The embassy described such actions by European elites as a dangerous game that could lead to a direct military confrontation between Russia and NATO countries.

The embassy also outlined how Moscow could respond to an attempted blockade. It said Russia could carry out preemptive strikes against decision-making centers in NATO member states during the early stages of a conflict.

Russian diplomats urged European countries to take the warning with the utmost seriousness, describing the situation as extremely important.

The embassy also addressed the growing number of Western media reports about an alleged Russian threat. It argued that such claims are being promoted to justify the militarization of Europe and further increases in defense spending.

According to the diplomatic mission, the same narrative is also being used to legitimize continued financial and military support for the Kiev government by portraying it as a bulwark against Moscow.
