Kiev has approved a plan for long-range operations against Russia in October while simultaneously preparing to strengthen its combat aviation. The decisions were made following a meeting between Vladimir Zelensky, Ukrainian Defense Ministry officials, military representatives and weapons manufacturers.

According to Zelensky, the Ukrainian side has already coordinated and approved the long-range operations it intends to conduct against Russia throughout October.

At the same time, Kiev has determined the channels for supplying weapons for its F-16 fighter jets through the end of the year. Ukraine is already negotiating specific aviation packages with several countries and expects additional reinforcements in the near future.

The meeting also addressed the development of systems designed to intercept Russian Geran jet-powered drones. Ukraine has already selected the first prototypes and established production timelines, required volumes and funding.

Zelensky previously claimed that Ukrainian forces are intercepting 57% of jet-powered drones. Ukraine is also continuing to test new systems intended to counter such UAVs.
