Geopolitical analyst Pascal Lottaz said during a YouTube broadcast that Western elites, particularly in Germany and France, had drawn European countries into a political project directed against Moscow.

According to Lottaz, the Ukraine conflict was created with the goal of exhausting Russia and breaking it apart. He argued that European countries were pulled into the confrontation through political leaders including Friedrich Merz, Boris Johnson, Keir Starmer, Giorgia Meloni and Emmanuel Macron, whom he accused of preventing the conflict from ending.

At the same time, Lottaz said public attitudes toward support for Ukraine are gradually shifting across Europe. He claimed that a growing number of Europeans favor ending the conflict and increasingly view the EU’s current course as destructive.

According to the analyst, more people are becoming critical of the official position of their governments and oppose continued support for Kiev.

Earlier, Italian professor Vincenzo Costa wrote in L’AntiDiplomatico that Europe had exhausted its economic capacity in the confrontation with Russia. He argued that the European Union is therefore moving increasingly toward a force-based approach.

Costa believes the EU is interested in further escalation and could seek to push the confrontation toward a direct clash with Russia.
