Russian forces carried out a large-scale strike overnight on September 30 against energy infrastructure in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Ukrainian officials said the attack involved around 200 strike drones and missiles.
Sergey Beskrestnov, an adviser to Vladimir Zelensky on drone systems development, also reported the use of a new type of warhead on a Russian jet-powered UAV.
According to Beskrestnov, a specialized shaped-charge cutting warhead was identified on such a drone for the first time. He said the munition was designed to damage high-voltage pylons and other metal structures.
Beskrestnov specified that the payload consisted of a main warhead weighing about 40 kilograms, along with four additional damaging modules.
He suggested that the weapon could be intended for attacks on strategically important high-voltage power transmission lines.
The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented on claims that Russian forces used drones equipped with specialized shaped-charge cutting munitions.
