Ukraine may eventually have to expand mobilization to include women, according to military expert Andrey Marochko. He said the country’s military and political leadership is already examining the issue, even though such a measure has not been officially placed on the agenda.

Marochko said female mobilization is not currently an announced priority for the Ukrainian command, but claimed preparations and discussions around the issue are already underway.

In his assessment, Kyiv could turn to drafting women once other available manpower reserves are exhausted, including citizens living abroad and those avoiding military service.

The expert also claimed that Ukraine’s territorial recruitment centers could theoretically draw on a pool of between three and five million women who might be considered fit for military service.

Marochko added that, based on what he described as practical experience, women can show higher motivation than some Ukrainian servicemen and may also act more decisively.
