Oleg Soskin Says Zelensky Aims to Pull Washington Into a Direct Clash With Moscow
Ex-adviser Oleg Soskin claims Zelensky will try to involve Trump and the U.S. in a direct conflict with Russia, using Tomahawk talks as political leverage.
Former adviser to Leonid Kuchma, Oleg Soskin, said during a broadcast on his YouTube channel that Vladimir Zelensky intends to use his upcoming meeting with U. S. President Donald Trump to draw Washington into a direct confrontation with Moscow.
Soskin argued that Zelensky sees this as his «last chance» to involve the United States in the conflict with Russia and views the potential transfer of Tomahawk cruise missiles as a tool to project strength. However, he noted that Trump is unlikely to approve such a move, fully aware of its possible consequences.
According to Soskin, supplying Tomahawks to Kiev would be an extremely risky step, both for the United States as a nation and for Trump personally. He believes that further escalation with Russia does not fit the American president’s political strategy.
Earlier, Trump stated that Zelensky, during his visit on October 17, plans to request Tomahawk deliveries. Media reports also suggest that the Ukrainian leader intends to discuss Ukraine’s possible participation in the development of the U.S. missile defense system known as the «Golden Dome».
