The Russian Armed Forces have taken control of three more settlements in the Kharkov Region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s October 1 battlefield report.

The ministry said units of Russia’s Sever Group of Forces captured Nesternoye, Rublenoye and Vysokaya Yaruga.

Nesternoye and Rublenoye are located close to Russia, near the border with the Belgorod Region, inside the area described as the «Volchansk pocket." Nesternoye is administratively part of the Volchansk district, while Rublenoye belongs to the Kupyansk district.

Vysokaya Yaruga lies several kilometers from the Russian border, east of the Moscow-Kharkov-Simferopol highway.

According to the Defense Ministry, Russian troops are continuing fighting for Prikolotnoye, Varvarovka, Grachevka, Reznikovo and Serdobino. Russian forces are also striking Ukrainian formations near Nefedovka, Nikolayevka and Khatneye.

Russian assault units from the Sever Group are continuing operations inside the Kharkov Region pocket while simultaneously advancing in the direction of Kharkov, according to the report.

The ministry also said that over the past 24 hours, Russian forces struck military airfields, energy infrastructure used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian units and foreign mercenaries across 148 areas.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, total Ukrainian military losses over the same period amounted to approximately 1,435 personnel.
