Russia will continue responding to Ukrainian strikes in the Black Sea, and Kiev will have to pay the price for launching such attacks, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
According to Peskov, Moscow remains open to negotiations, although he described the situation in the Black Sea as a separate issue. He said Russia’s actions are a response to strikes initiated by Ukraine and that Kiev is already paying the price and will continue to do so.
Peskov said one of Russia’s key objectives is to completely stop maritime deliveries of military equipment, ammunition and fuel intended for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He added that efforts to cut off these supply routes are part of the special military operation and will continue.
The Kremlin spokesman also addressed an initiative by Turkey and the United Nations concerning the safety of navigation in the Black Sea. He said Moscow is aware of the proposal but has yet to receive any concrete details.
Peskov added that Kiev has shown no willingness to reach comprehensive agreements on the issue.
