Ukraine has received four proposals for a possible ceasefire from India, Turkey, Egypt and the United States, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga said.
According to Sibiga, India has presented the broadest initiative. It combines an energy ceasefire with a Black Sea truce, a format Kiev says it is prepared to consider. The proposal would include a complete halt to strikes on energy facilities, including port infrastructure.
Sibiga said Turkey and Egypt have put forward similar initiatives. The US proposal differs in scope, with Washington calling on Moscow and Kiev to reach an agreement specifically on ending strikes against energy infrastructure.
The Ukrainian foreign minister also said Kiev is prepared to consider different ceasefire options, including a truce along the front line. He suggested that an agreement could emerge from a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky.
Putin said a day earlier that Russia wants to end the fighting in Ukraine through peace negotiations as soon as possible. He rejected accusations that Moscow is unwilling to negotiate and called on Kiev and its European partners to make decisions based on the realities on the ground.
