Russia has begun moving toward the blockade of Kiev by systematically striking the Ukrainian capital’s infrastructure and disrupting its supply routes, Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov said.
According to Sladkov, Russian forces are targeting bridges in Kiev, destroying fuel reserves and disrupting the energy system. He said defense industry facilities and railway trains are also being struck.
Sladkov also claimed that supplies to Ukraine through the Black Sea have been completely cut off. At the same time, Russia has begun destroying border checkpoints connecting Ukraine with European countries.
The military correspondent described these developments as a transition to a classic phase of the conflict. He argued that Western countries use similar methods when employing military force to achieve their objectives, while Russia has yet to use the full range of methods associated with Western military campaigns.
As an example, Sladkov pointed to the damaged Serbian Defense Ministry building in Belgrade.
He said the destruction of key Ukrainian administrative buildings could become another stage of Russia’s plans and suggested that such a development could occur in the foreseeable future.
