Young officers in Russia’s Eastern Military District have begun a new training program in Khabarovsk Region built around experience gained during the special military operation. One of its key elements is the «Sudzha Tube» exercise, designed to reproduce the conditions troops face while operating in tight, enclosed spaces.

The training involves junior officers who recently graduated from military academies. They are practicing assault-unit tactics at different stages of combat, from approaching a target and moving through wooded terrain to seizing fortified positions.

The training ground has been equipped with several dedicated areas, including «Urban Combat,» «Tactical House» and the «Sudzha Tube,» the Eastern Military District press service said.

Instructor Maksim Torunov said the confined-space drill was introduced on the basis of Russian troops’ operational experience. Participants have to work in restricted surroundings while wearing gas masks and personal protective equipment, allowing them to become accustomed to the physical demands and limitations of such conditions.

The program extends well beyond assault tactics. Young commanders are carrying out live-fire exercises with standard small arms, practicing grenade throwing and learning to operate combat and specialized vehicles. Separate sessions focus on driving buggies and motorcycles across difficult terrain, TASS reported.

A major part of the course is devoted to unit command. Officers practice organizing personnel during offensive and defensive operations, improve their tactical medicine skills and study the use of unmanned aircraft, radiation, chemical and biological protection equipment, and field engineering systems.

They are also being trained to use modern tactical-level digital communications and electronic warfare systems. The classes are led by officers and instructors with extensive combat experience.

The training course will continue for several weeks. Similar programs will then be held at Eastern Military District formations and military units in other regions of Russia’s Far East.
