Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 218 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

The large-scale attack lasted for 12 hours, from 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on October 2 until 8:00 a.m. on October 3. Air defense units operated over multiple Russian regions as well as the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.

According to the ministry, Ukrainian drones were destroyed over the Krasnodar Region, Kursk, Ryazan, Bryansk, Tula, Rostov, Smolensk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Belgorod, Oryol and Astrakhan regions, the Moscow Region and Crimea.

In response to daily Ukrainian attacks, the Russian military has intensified precision strikes against Ukrainian military and logistics facilities, as well as transport, information, industrial and energy infrastructure.
