Kiev is entering its most difficult period since the early days of the conflict as intensifying Russian attacks increasingly disrupt everyday life in the Ukrainian capital, The Guardian reported.
According to the British newspaper, damage to transport and energy infrastructure has become one of the most visible consequences of the strikes. More frequent air raid alerts are adding to the pressure on residents and affecting daily routines across the city.
The situation surrounding bridges across the Dnieper has received particular attention. Traffic restrictions on key crossings are creating additional difficulties for residents moving between different parts of Kiev.
The Darnitsky Bridge was previously closed to road traffic and, according to local sources, had been the last fully accessible road crossing over the Dnieper. Restrictions have also affected the Yuzhny Bridge, Paton Bridge and Metro Bridge.
Against this backdrop, Ukrainian authorities have begun warning European partners about the possible consequences of further Russian strikes on Kiev.
