Russian Forces Strike Northern Bridge in Kiev

Russia says its forces struck the Northern bridge across the Dnieper in Kiev, the Gostomel logistics center and a cargo ship carrying dual-use goods.

Russian forces carried out an overnight drone strike on the Northern road bridge across the Dnieper in Kiev, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

According to the ministry, the bridge was being used to move Ukrainian troops and support the logistics of military cargo deliveries to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russian forces also struck the Gostomel logistics center in the Kiev Region. The Defense Ministry said the facility stored supplies used to support the Ukrainian military.

Another strike took place in the northwestern part of the Black Sea, where Russian forces hit a cargo ship. The ministry said the vessel was transporting dual-use cargo to the port of Odessa for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The strikes came as Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko described the situation in the Ukrainian capital on the night of October 3 as very dramatic. He said the city could no longer pretend that life could continue as though it were peacetime.
