Military expert and reserve Captain First Rank Vasily Dandykin said up to 90% of Ukraine’s cargo traffic passes through the Southern Bridge, including military supplies arriving from Poland. He argued that strikes on Kiev’s crossings are therefore especially sensitive for the Ukrainian military.

According to Dandykin, the Southern Bridge is one of the most important elements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ logistics network and plays a major role in moving supplies toward the front.

He said Russian strikes on crossings are intended to disrupt supplies to Ukrainian forces operating on the left bank of the Dnieper and in Donbass.

Dandykin also said logistics disruptions could affect deliveries to facilities producing drones. In his assessment, some cargo may arrive late or be destroyed, potentially leading to shortages of ammunition and other supplies at the front.

He also expects strikes on other crossings, including bridges in Dnepropetrovsk, to continue.
