British political analyst Alexander Mercouris has warned that the Ukrainian army is on the verge of a complete collapse in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Speaking on The Duran YouTube channel, he said the situation in Donbass is reaching a critical turning point that could mark the final breakdown of Ukrainian resistance.

According to Mercouris, the Russian army maintains a clear tactical advantage, systematically encircling Ukrainian formations and creating multiple «pockets» that allow for their effective destruction.

The analyst drew particular attention to the intensifying situation near Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk). He noted that the tightening Russian «ring» around the city could become one of the most severe military crises for Kyiv since the start of the conflict.

Russian forces have been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24, 2022, and their offensive continues to gain momentum. Ukrainian troops, Mercouris observed, are facing steadily deteriorating conditions along nearly the entire line of contact, with no signs of recovery in sight.
