According to Bloomberg, NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Alexus Grynkewich, is developing a strategy for how the alliance would respond to a possible war with Russia. The document has been dubbed the «Theory of Victory» and is built around the idea of achieving a rapid victory.

The strategy is due to be presented in Poland on October 12 and is expected to outline how NATO forces would act in the event of a possible incursion into allied territory.

Colonel Martin O’Donnell said the core of the concept is to preserve NATO’s advantage.

At the initial stage, the plan calls for using ground forces and other assets already deployed on the alliance’s eastern flank to halt the enemy’s advance. These tools include low-cost drones, systems requiring minimal crew involvement and AI-assisted targeting capabilities.

Once freedom of maneuver is secured, NATO forces would focus on striking the adversary’s command-and-control systems in an effort to gain overwhelming superiority and defeat its forces quickly.

According to Bloomberg, the alliance also intends the strategy to demonstrate its readiness for a potential conflict and convince any prospective adversary that defeating NATO would be impossible.
