He also claimed that his group later used the confusion to direct attacks against positions occupied by other Ukrainian units.

Koldun said the episode took place near the village of Khrapovshchina in the Sumy Region. According to his account, a Russian assault group killed several dozen Ukrainian servicemen during the fighting and captured another 12.

The Russian soldiers and their prisoners were then unable to leave the front line and move to the rear for an extended period because of the large number of hostile drones operating overhead.

Koldun said the captured Ukrainian troops continued receiving radio calls from their side asking about the situation and what supplies were needed. Requests were made for water, food and power banks, and Ukrainian drone crews continued delivering them for five days.

According to him, UAV operators from the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were effectively supplying both soldiers of Russia’s 119th Airborne Regiment and the Ukrainian prisoners being held with them.

After several days, Ukrainian forces reportedly realized that the positions had been lost and began dropping explosive devices from drones.

Koldun claimed that some of the strikes then hit Ukrainian servicemen located between Russian positions. He said one of them tried to tell the drone operators over the radio that they were attacking their own troops, but the strikes continued.
