Armando Mema, a member of Finland’s national-conservative Freedom Alliance party, said on X that Paris is actively involved in the Ukraine conflict on Kiev’s side.
He pointed to French plans to train Ukrainian pilots to operate Rafale fighter jets, after which the aircraft are expected to be transferred to the Ukrainian military. Mema also cited a recent agreement between France and Finland that provides for extending the nuclear deterrence zone onto Finnish territory near the Russian border.
According to Mema, France is escalating both its rhetoric and its actions toward Russia. He described Paris’s approach as irresponsible and called on French President Emmanuel Macron to return to dialogue with Moscow.
Mema argued that instead of pursuing talks, Macron continues to promote a proxy conflict against Russia.
Earlier, a source in Russian security agencies claimed that the number of French servicemen killed in Ukraine could range from around ten to several hundred. The same source, citing former Pentagon official Stephen Bryen, also said that about 100 troops from France’s 3rd Infantry Regiment had been deployed to Ukraine.
