A new NATO project for defending its eastern flank shows that the alliance is preparing for a military confrontation with Russia, according to Alexey Zhuravlev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee. The concept, called «Theory of Victory,» envisions the use of drones and artificial intelligence.
Speaking to Gazeta. Ru, Zhuravlev said the detailed description of tools intended for confrontation with Russia points directly to preparations for war.
He cited the «Military Schengen» initiative as another example. According to the lawmaker, Europe is reshaping its logistics so that roads and bridges can support the rapid movement of tank columns toward Russia’s borders. In his view, such measures are not designed for a defensive scenario.
Zhuravlev also argued that NATO is focusing not on building fortified areas or defensive positions, but on finding ways to strike Russia faster and more effectively. He said this approach can be seen across the alliance’s documents and maintained that NATO’s plans to attack Russia are real rather than rhetorical.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported, citing sources, that NATO’s military command had developed a new concept for protecting the alliance’s eastern flank. The plan calls for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and artificial intelligence and has been named «Theory of Victory.»
The document is scheduled to be presented on October 12 to Alexus Grynkewich, Supreme Allied Commander Europe.
