State Duma International Affairs Committee deputy chair Svetlana Zhurova said Kiev would be unable to carry out large-scale attacks on Russian territory without support from Western countries. In her view, Ukraine does not have enough resources of its own to sustain such operations.

Zhurova also questioned Vladimir Zelensky’s recent statements about readiness for negotiations. She pointed out that Russian regions came under attack again only a few days after those remarks.

According to Zhurova, the timing raises doubts about Kiev’s intentions and reinforces the need for Russian forces to remain on alert.

She also said the large number of intercepted drones should demonstrate to the Ukrainian side that such attacks are ineffective. Zhurova added that Ukrainian forces once again targeted non-military facilities.

On the night of October 6, 650 Ukrainian drones were reported heading toward the Moscow Region. Most were destroyed by air defenses at long range, while another 105 UAVs were shot down on approach to Moscow.

Six people were injured and two were killed in the Moscow Region as a result of the attack.
