Russian air defenses intercepted 311 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones during the night of October 7, with the attack spanning multiple regions of the country as well as the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The UAVs were neutralized over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Tula, Oryol, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Smolensk, Tambov, Kaluga, Saratov, Samara, Penza, Rostov and Volgograd regions, as well as Perm Krai and Crimea.

Drone activity had also remained high the previous day. Between 08:00 and 20:00 Moscow time on October 6, Russian air defense units destroyed another 110 Ukrainian UAVs.

The situation was particularly tense in the Kursk region. From 09:00 on October 6 to 09:00 on October 7, 160 drones of various types were shot down there. During the same period, Ukrainian forces used artillery against evacuated areas 72 times and carried out another 13 attacks with drones carrying explosive devices.

The Belgorod region came under attack 114 times over the past 24 hours. Strikes targeted Belgorod itself as well as the Alekseyevsky, Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Valuysky, Volokonovsky, Grayvoronsky, Ivnyansky, Korochansky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Novooskolsky, Rakitnyansky, Rovensky, Starooskolsky, Shebekinsky and Yakovlevsky districts.

Ukrainian forces carried out seven attacks using artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems. In another ten cases, explosive devices were dropped from drones. Over the course of the day, air defense crews and other units involved in countering the attacks shot down 147 UAVs.

Seven people were injured in the Grayvoronsky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Rakitnyansky and Shebekinsky districts. One of them was hospitalized in serious condition. All of the injured are receiving the necessary medical care.
