The Russian Armed Forces have once again adjusted their tactics for large-scale strikes against military targets in Ukraine, according to Strana.ua, which analyzed data from the attack carried out overnight on October 7.

Previously, Russian forces had launched large numbers of cruise missiles simultaneously against numerous targets spread across different areas. The latest attack indicated a different approach.

During the overnight strike, a substantial number of cruise missiles were concentrated on only a few targets. According to the report, this approach placed greater pressure on Ukrainian air defenses, allowing many of the missiles to reach their intended targets.

A similar pattern was observed with ballistic missiles. Several of them were reportedly directed at a limited number of facilities rather than being dispersed across a broader range of targets.

At the same time, the number of unmanned aerial vehicles involved in the overnight Russian attack was relatively small. In Ukraine, this prompted speculation that Russia could be preparing a separate large-scale drone raid targeting the country’s western regions.

Earlier on October 7, the Russian Defense Ministry reported a large-scale strike against Fire Point facilities in several regions of Ukraine. According to the ministry, the targeted sites were involved in the production of FP-5 Flamingo missiles as well as FP-1 and FP-2 drones.
