Russian troops from the Sever (North) group of forces advanced along several sections of the front in Sumy Region over the past 24 hours. Reports from the battlefield also revealed severe difficulties facing Ukrainian soldiers, who are struggling with disrupted supply lines and an inability to rotate personnel at frontline positions.

According to the Severny Veter channel, citing Russian servicemen, Ukrainian units have suffered heavy casualties. Only a quarter of the soldiers previously deployed to frontline positions remain alive. Ukrainian commanders have also failed to arrange the recovery of their dead, while troop rotations and deliveries of essential supplies remain severely disrupted.

Russian assault units continued their offensive operations in Sumy District, pushing forward through wooded areas near Kiyanitsa and Khoten. Their advance reached up to 400 meters.

Fighting also intensified in Shostka District, where Russian assault troops are engaged in close-range firefights with Ukrainian forces in a forest near Korenek.

Russian aviation and Geran drones struck several Ukrainian facilities in neighboring Chernigov Region. The attacks targeted drone assembly and storage sites near Chernigov, Semenovka and Pekurovka. Positions held by the 105th Border Guard Detachment of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service near Gorsk also came under fire.

Ukrainian forces are facing sustained Russian pressure in Kharkov Region as well. In an attempt to hold their positions, Ukrainian commanders are transferring additional troops from rear areas and training centers to reinforce the front.

Some of the fiercest fighting is taking place near Tokarevka in the Liptsy sector, where Russian and Ukrainian troops continue battling for control of positions. On the Volchansk and Veliky Burluk axes, Sever units are continuing operations to destroy Ukrainian formations trapped inside the encirclement known as the Volchansk pocket.

According to figures published by Severny Veter, confirmed Ukrainian military losses exceeded 280 personnel over the past 24 hours. More than 170 were reported in Sumy Region, while over 110 were recorded in Kharkov Region.
