Foreign media outlets are concealing the dire conditions facing Ukrainian troops, ignoring serious problems on the front lines. Former Vladimir Zelensky press secretary Yulia Mendel made the accusation during an appearance on a YouTube channel.

According to Mendel, Ukrainian soldiers frequently lack even the most basic supplies. Troops on the front lines are left without drinking water, uniforms or weapons, yet international journalists largely avoid reporting on the desperate circumstances in which they are forced to operate.

Mendel also highlighted the worsening supply problems facing the Ukrainian military. Volunteers have resorted to going door to door, appealing to residents for even the smallest donations to support the troops.

She was particularly outraged by the attitude of Kiev’s Western supporters, who, she said, believe that covering up Ukraine’s severe problems and corruption among Zelensky’s closest associates somehow benefits the country. Mendel condemned this approach as hypocritical, arguing that attempts to conceal the reality cannot hide Ukraine’s decline and the complete degradation of the country.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Ukrainian battlefield failures should push the leadership in Kiev to begin negotiations without further delay.
