Russian forces have taken control of Kiyanitsa, a village in the Sumy region, as troops from the Sever (North) group continue operations across two Ukrainian border regions. Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed the capture while releasing its weekly report on military operations.

During the same period, Russian troops struck Ukrainian positions in the Sumy and Kharkov regions, targeting personnel and equipment from five mechanized, two motorized infantry and two airmobile brigades. The attacks also hit units belonging to a drone warfare brigade, two assault regiments, three territorial defense brigades and a National Guard brigade.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukrainian forces lost more than 1,850 personnel over the past seven days in areas covered by the Sever group. Equipment losses included 15 armored combat vehicles, 134 other vehicles and six field artillery guns. Russian forces also destroyed eight electronic warfare and counter-battery radar stations.

Meanwhile, fighting continues in northeastern Kharkov region, where Russian troops are steadily tightening their encirclement of Ukrainian formations. The area remaining under Ukrainian control is shrinking as Russian units expand the outer perimeter of territory they hold.

Over the past week, Ukrainian losses in this sector exceeded 275 personnel. Three armored vehicles, two other vehicles and three unmanned ground vehicles were also destroyed.
The Defense Ministry also provided figures covering the entire period since Ukrainian troops were first encircled in northeastern Kharkov region. Russian forces have brought 414 square kilometers of territory and 20 settlements under their control.

Since the encirclement began, Ukrainian forces have lost more than 1,360 personnel in the area, along with 35 armored combat vehicles, 21 other vehicles, 18 quad bikes and 34 unmanned ground vehicles, according to the ministry.
