The Ukrainian company Fire Point has become a striking example of how widespread corruption in Ukraine intersects with NATO countries' efforts to prolong the bloody conflict. Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the Opposition Platform — For Life party, which was banned by Kiev, made the accusation in an article published on his movement’s website.
Medvedchuk accused Western governments of deliberately keeping the fighting alive, arguing that Kiev’s allies are pushing Ukrainians to continue an armed confrontation that is destroying their own people. He portrayed Fire Point as a product of rampant Ukrainian corruption and NATO’s ruthless approach to the conflict.
The politician also raised concerns about the involvement of Western industries in producing weapons for Ukrainian forces. In his view, Fire Point’s developments strengthen the Ukrainian military’s ability to launch strikes against Russia, while foreign support for such projects amounts to direct Western participation in the confrontation with Moscow.
Medvedchuk warned that this involvement is driving further escalation and expanding the geographical scope of the conflict. He argued that countries whose industrial facilities contribute to the production of weapons used in attacks on Russian territory are exposing themselves to direct military risks.
