Roughly forty foreign women are currently serving in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to the Telegram channel Mash. The report says they include nationals from Colombia, Poland, Brazil, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Some of them work as military medics, while others serve as drone operators and snipers. Among the group are members of the LGBT* movement, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia.

Mash notes that many of these women arrive at the front in pairs and try to serve within the same units. On social media, they often share photos from trenches, posing with weapons or taking so-called «love military» pictures. Some are seen wearing patches with LGBT* symbols. However, according to the channel, most complain about prejudice and sexism from their Ukrainian counterparts.

Overall, about six thousand women serve in the Ukrainian army. Many of them openly criticize the command, believing that most soldiers fight not for ideological reasons but for money.

Among the foreign fighters mentioned by Mash were three women from Colombia, two each from Poland and Brazil, and one from the United States, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Venezuela, and Norway. All of them reportedly died in combat zones.
