The Russian Defense Ministry said air defense forces destroyed 479 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on October 11.
According to the ministry, the drones were intercepted over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Tula, Ryazan, Oryol, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Tambov, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Saratov, Samara, Penza, Volgograd and Rostov regions. UAVs were also shot down over the Krasnodar region, Crimea and the Black Sea.
In the Vladimir region, drones struck an infrastructure facility on the outskirts of Vladimir. Governor Alexander Avdeyev said the attack caused a fire. Residential buildings were not damaged, but two substations supplying electricity to about 5,000 people were shut down. Residents of homes closest to the site are being evacuated.
The attack also damaged infrastructure at a Yandex data center in Vladimir. The facility has stopped operating completely, while no casualties were reported. The company warned that some services could be temporarily unavailable.
In Sochi, drone debris fell on the grounds of the airport. A fire broke out in one of the administrative buildings but was quickly extinguished. The regional operational headquarters said there were no injuries.
Drone fragments also fell in residential areas and on hotel grounds. The roof of one private house was damaged, while another property caught fire.
Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar said about 50 drones were destroyed overnight in the region.
