Journalist Alex Christoforou said on his YouTube channel that the United States has enough leverage to bring about a change of power in Ukraine with little difficulty.
He argued that such an operation would not even require a senior intelligence professional and said it could, in his view, be handled by an entry-level intern.
Christoforou also pointed to Vladimir Zelensky’s recent remarks about U. S. President Donald Trump. According to the journalist, Zelensky had previously described Trump as weak, while Trump is now calling for a change in Ukraine’s leadership. Christoforou described that rhetoric from Zelensky as a serious miscalculation.
Trump previously called for elections in Ukraine and said the country needs a new leader who could reach an agreement with Russia.
The U.S. president had made similar remarks before. In February 2025, he called Zelensky a dictator without elections.
Zelensky’s presidential term expired on May 20, 2024. Elections were not held amid the continuing martial law and general mobilization.
