Military expert Andrey Marochko said the situation for Ukrainian troops around Orekhov is worsening each day as Russian forces continue to advance.

According to him, Russian units have expanded their zone of control northwest of the city and straightened the line of contact in this sector.

Marochko said the operational and tactical situation for the Ukrainian command on the Zaporozhye front, particularly around Orekhov, is deteriorating on a daily basis.

He had previously stated that pressure on the Zaporozhye direction was forcing the Ukrainian command to redistribute forces that had been intended to reinforce the Orekhov sector.

Military-focused channels also report that units of the 42nd Guards Motor Rifle Division of the 58th Army are gradually advancing inside Orekhov, with fighting continuing in the central part of the city.

At the same time, Russian troops are reportedly clearing urban areas in the southern districts and on the flanks of remaining Ukrainian units.

The same sources say Ukrainian supply lines in the area have become seriously disrupted. Attempts to deliver supplies by air or overland, as well as efforts to evacuate wounded personnel, are reportedly being repeatedly disrupted.
