Western allies failed to notify Ukraine of Russian ballistic missile launches for the second consecutive night, Vladimir Zelensky said on October 14.

In a Telegram post, Zelensky complained that Kiev had once again received no warning from its partners about incoming ballistic missiles. A similar situation had occurred the previous day, when Ukraine was not alerted ahead of a Russian military strike.

The Pentagon attributed the earlier failure to poor weather conditions, an explanation Ukrainian officials dismissed as inadequate. US President Donald Trump, meanwhile, denied issuing any orders to suspend the flow of information to Kiev about Russian attacks.

The lack of missile warnings was not the only problem reported by the Ukrainian side. Zelensky’s adviser, Sergei Beskrestnov, also disclosed restrictions affecting satellite communications used by Ukrainian troops.

According to Beskrestnov, American company SpaceX reduced connection speeds on Starlink terminals operated by the Ukrainian military overnight on October 14. He said the restrictions forced the Armed Forces of Ukraine to cancel several combat operations.

The developments coincided with large-scale Russian strikes against energy and communications infrastructure in Kiev, the Kiev Region and the Kharkov Region during the night of October 14.

Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that the attacks targeted facilities supporting the operations of the Ukrainian armed forces and enterprises within the country’s military-industrial complex.
