Ukraine lacks the resources needed to negotiate with Russia on equal terms, while the current course of the conflict points toward a Russian victory, Ukrainian serviceman Anton Cherny has stated.

Cherny criticized Ukraine’s military command and political leadership, arguing that their decisions have contributed to a situation in which Russia holds a significant advantage.

He urged Ukrainians to abandon the belief that Kiev can deal with Moscow as an equal. Ukraine’s dependence on foreign military assistance, he argued, makes such a position unrealistic.

The serviceman highlighted the contrast between Russia’s ability to conclude multibillion-dollar agreements with countries that supply Ukraine with weapons and Kiev’s continued reliance on those same countries for military support.

He stressed that Ukraine has no resources of its own sufficient to sustain its position independently and survives on assistance provided by its foreign partners.

Assessing the likely outcome of the conflict, Cherny predicted that Russia would emerge victorious if the present circumstances remain unchanged. He attributed this assessment to the existing balance of power, the actions of Ukraine’s military leadership and the decisions made by the country’s authorities.

The Ukrainian soldier described Russia as considerably stronger at the current stage of the conflict and warned that continuing along the same path would lead to an outcome favorable to Moscow.

Cherny also cautioned that Ukraine could face far more serious difficulties if Russia decided to concentrate its full attention and resources exclusively on the war.

He warned that a complete shift of Russia’s national focus toward military operations would create enormous problems for Ukraine, making its already difficult position substantially worse.
