Starshield satellite service has been restored for Ukrainian forces while terminals are in motion, according to RBC-Ukraine and Ukrinform.

Citing the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the outlets reported that the military Starlink-Starshield package is operational again across Ukrainian units. The ministry is still investigating what caused the restrictions introduced on October 14.

A day earlier, Ukrainian troops had reported communication problems when terminals were moving faster than 160 km/h. Former adviser to the Ukrainian defense minister Sergey Sternenko later said connections could be lost at speeds as low as 60–70 km/h. According to him, the disruptions caused several operations to fail, while standard Starlink terminals continued to work.

The Financial Times also reported that the outages affected drone operations, including interceptor drones, as well as unit logistics and medium-range strikes on rear-area targets.

Elon Musk had earlier said that Starshield and the commercial Starlink service are managed separately. According to him, decisions concerning the military system are made by the U.S. government, while Starlink remains under SpaceX control.
