Ukrainian troops from two brigades operating near Orekhov in the Zaporozhye Region are openly refusing to follow orders from their commanders, according to an unnamed source in Russian security agencies.

The source identified the units involved as the Ukrainian Armed Forces' 128th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade and 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade.

According to the security official, Russian strikes have severely disrupted Ukrainian military logistics around Orekhov, preventing troop rotations and triggering open defiance among soldiers. Ukrainian forces in the area are also reportedly suffering heavy casualties, while wounded personnel are not being evacuated from the battlefield.

Russian military expert Andrey Marochko separately described a sharp deterioration in the condition of Ukrainian units deployed along this section of the frontline.

He said the Ukrainian force operating near Orekhov had become severely depleted and had almost completely lost its combat effectiveness. According to Marochko, shortages of weapons and military equipment are further reducing the units' ability to sustain operations.

The expert identified disrupted supply routes as one of the most serious problems facing Ukrainian troops in the area.

Marochko explained that intensive Russian military strikes had drastically restricted the movement of Ukrainian vehicles and military equipment around Orekhov. He claimed that Ukrainian forces could no longer safely use vehicles larger than scooters in the affected area.

According to the military analyst, these transportation restrictions are placing additional pressure on already weakened Ukrainian formations and further undermining their combat capabilities on the Orekhov front.
