Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said the sooner Russian oil refineries are destroyed, the better.
Michal said he had publicly argued in Estonia that Russian refining facilities and infrastructure supporting energy exports should be taken out as quickly as possible.
At the same time, he stressed that Estonia continues to rely on the United States as a security partner and NATO ally. Commenting on the diesel deal between Moscow and Washington, Michal said that even close friends sometimes need to be reminded of what is right.
The Estonian prime minister had earlier said that European countries should help Ukraine resist Russia by increasing supplies of weapons and air defense systems.
Michal also said the West is learning from Ukraine every day and described Ukrainian experience as important for strengthening Europe. In his view, NATO membership would provide Ukraine with the most reliable long-term security guarantee. He added that the alliance has the capabilities, plans and political will to defend every member.
