The Russian army continues its special military operation in Ukraine. As of October 17, Russian forces have reported the liberation of several settlements, advances in the Kupyansk direction and ongoing fighting across other sectors of the front.

Kharkov Direction

The Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of Varvarovka and Nikolayevka, the final two villages within the Reznikovka pocket.

Clearing operations in the surrounding forest belts are expected to follow. Fierce fighting continues near Prikolotnoye and Maly Burluk.

Dobropolye Direction

Russian forces have reportedly liberated the settlement of Dobropolye.

Meeting engagements are underway in several areas near Gruzskoye. Reports also indicate tactical successes by Russian troops near Belozerskoye.

Kupyansk Direction

Russian units continue advancing north of Dvurechnaya along the Dolgenkoye-Figolevka line.

Operations to clear individual areas are also underway.

Zaporozhye Direction

Intense fighting continues north of Orekhov, where Russian units are striking Ukrainian military logistics.

Dnieper Direction

The situation near Mirnoye and Komar remains difficult.

Russian forces are reportedly attempting to push Ukrainian troops back south of Velikomikhailovka.

Russian drones are also striking Ukrainian military equipment and positions near Kolomiytsy and along the Gavrilovka-Podgavrilovka line.
