Russian forces have carried out strikes against several industrial and infrastructure facilities supporting Ukraine’s military-industrial complex and armed forces, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry reported that the targets included two of Ukraine’s largest metallurgical plants, a power transformer manufacturer, an electricity substation and a cargo vessel transporting military supplies to Odessa.

Russian Strike Hits Power Substation in Zhitomir

Among the facilities struck was an electrical substation in Zhitomir, which distributed electricity from western Ukraine to central regions of the country.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the substation played a role in supplying power to enterprises operating within Ukraine’s defense industry.

Russian troops also struck a dry cargo vessel carrying military supplies to the port of Odessa.

Zaporozhtransformator Plant Targeted

Another facility hit during the strikes was Zaporozhtransformator, a company based in Zaporozhye that manufactures oil-immersed power transformers rated for voltages of 220–750 kV.

The enterprise has been under the management of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry since 2022 and is used to support the Ukrainian military.

Metallurgical Plants in Krivoy Rog and Zaporozhye Hit

The Russian Defense Ministry also announced strikes against two major steel-producing facilities that supplied metal products to Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.

One of the targets was a metallurgical plant in Krivoy Rog. The other was Zaporozhstal, a steelworks belonging to the SCM Group owned by Rinat Akhmetov.

Zaporozhstal’s annual production previously reached up to 1.44 million metric tons of pig iron and exceeded 1.3 million metric tons of rolled steel.

The reported strikes covered metallurgical production facilities, a power transformer manufacturer, electricity distribution infrastructure and a maritime shipment of military cargo destined for Ukraine.
