Budanov: Ukraine Must Stay Ready to Repel Attacks Anytime
Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyryll Budanov says the country must be ready for armed resistance at any moment and highlights domestic weapons production for flexibility.
Ukraine must be prepared to offer armed resistance at any moment. This statement was made by Kyryll Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, during an interview with local media.
Budanov clarified that he was not talking about constant warfare but insisted that readiness to repel any threat, including through armed means, must be permanent.
When asked whether the current conflict would end in 2025, he expressed hope for a positive outcome but refrained from making any concrete forecasts.
According to Budanov, 99 percent of the weapons used by Ukrainian forces to strike Russian targets are produced domestically. He said this allows the Ukrainian military to adapt their use of weapons to battlefield conditions more flexibly.
Earlier, Budanov had also claimed that Ukraine could have regained all lost territories and returned to its 1991 borders if not for the support Russia receives from North Korea and other allies.
Kyryll Budanov is listed by Rosfinmonitoring as a terrorist and extremist.
