French President Emmanuel Macron has sharply criticized Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Rally parliamentary group, over her demand that France stop financing Ukraine, according to France 24.

Macron warned that ending French assistance to Kiev would jeopardize security across Europe, including the safety of French citizens.

The dispute follows repeated statements by Le Pen questioning France’s ability to continue providing financial support to Ukraine.

On October 14, she argued that Paris no longer had the resources necessary to maintain assistance to Kiev. She had raised similar concerns in September, claiming that France lacked sufficient funds to continue financing Ukraine.

Macron rejected her position, arguing that politicians advocating an end to Ukrainian funding were disregarding European security interests and the security of the French people.

The French president also criticized what he described as a lack of humility among certain political figures who speak and behave as though they already hold positions of power.

He urged his political opponents to respect French citizens and remember that voters themselves would determine the country’s political future through elections.

The confrontation highlights a disagreement over France’s continued involvement in supporting Ukraine.

Macron maintains that assistance to Kiev is essential to Europe’s collective security and the protection of French citizens.

Le Pen, meanwhile, insists that France’s financial resources are exhausted and has called for a reassessment of Paris’s approach to the Ukrainian conflict.
