Vladimir Zelensky called on the United States to increase pressure on Moscow after a series of overnight Russian strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure.
He said Ukraine’s energy and oil and gas sectors had been hit dozens of times over the past week. According to Zelensky, Russia used nearly 2,700 attack drones, 1,700 aerial bombs and 66 missiles against Ukraine during that period.
Zelensky said substations in the Vinnitsa, Zhitomir, Khmelnitsky and Odessa regions were among the targets hit overnight.
On the night of October 18, Russian forces carried out a group strike on military and logistics facilities in Ukraine.
The Russian Defense Ministry said the Novaya Pochta logistics center in Rovno was hit. According to the ministry, the facility was used to store and distribute dual-use cargo, including components for medium- and long-range drones.
The ministry also reported a strike on a dry cargo vessel about 30 kilometers east of the port of Odessa. It said the ship was carrying dual-use cargo.
