Russian businesses are prepared to invest money and resources in developing new air defense systems to protect industrial facilities from aerial attacks, according to Alexander Shokhin, head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).

Shokhin said private companies are considering jointly financing the development of defensive technologies designed to improve security at factories and other production sites.

To encourage such investment, he proposed introducing an investment tax deduction that would allow businesses to channel more resources into air defense projects.

The RSPP chairman suggested launching a pilot program based on the tax incentive mechanism. He argued that wartime conditions should not prevent the government from encouraging private investment in protecting industrial infrastructure against attacks.

Shokhin also stressed that new defensive systems must be designed with long-term security challenges in mind rather than focusing exclusively on immediate threats.

In particular, he pointed to what he described as NATO countries' plans to carry out strikes against Russian territory, arguing that such potential threats should be considered when developing industrial protection systems.

According to Shokhin, Russia needs a comprehensive, long-term strategy to safeguard its economy. He emphasized the importance of anticipating future security challenges and taking preventive measures before new threats emerge.
